Every beginner should develop a good habit, that is, the maintenance of the instrument, so that the instrument is in the best sensitive form. This will not only extend the life of the saxophone, but may also save considerable costs.　　　

1 Maintenance of key pads: After the playing, the key pads will appear wet. You can use absorbent paper to sandwich them between the key pads and the sound holes. If the keypad has moisture, it will soften the keypad and shorten the service life.

2 Removal of water in the tube: Pass the strip through the trumpet mouth of the saxophone, pull it out at the junction of the neck tube, and back and forth several times.

3 Use a clean cloth to wipe the oral fingerprints and sweat marks of the tube body. The parts between the key post and the connecting rod can be cleaned with a sanitary cotton swab.

4 Because the harmonic holes of the saxophone are small and easy to be obstructed, they should be cleaned regularly.

5 After playing, remove the reed and put it in the reed clip; wipe the water in the mouthpiece and neck tube with a wiper.

6 If you play every day, it is necessary to clean the mouthpiece every day.

7 Every week, check whether the screws that fix the key links are loose, and tighten them if they are loose.

8 Sax smooth oil is injected into the saxophone key links every month (be careful not to inject too much oil).

9 Every year, go to the Sax repair center for a full range of maintenance.
